Effective January 1, 2026, several municipalities will implement new or revised rates for the Simplified Municipal Telecommunications Tax. This change affects telecommunications service providers and customers in those areas.
The Illinois Department of Revenue advises individuals and businesses to confirm their applicable state and local telecommunications tax rates using the MyTax Illinois Tax Rate Finder at mytax.illinois.gov by selecting rates for January 2026.
