Illinois lawmakers will receive their first pay increase since 2008 in the amount of $1,628 after the General Assembly passed the budget and Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed it into law on June 6.
A fifth amendment to House Bill 3308, which aims to make sports betting legal in the state, would make sure popular sports betting sites like DraftKings and FanDuel would still be banned in Illinois.
Gov. Bruce Rauner said he was "not in charge" during a press conference Monday and he intends to continue blaming House Speaker Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) for the problems facing Illinois until Madigan is no longer speaker.
