Illinois Department of Agriculture issued the following announcement on Feb. 7.
Three-time Grammy® Award-winning and multi-Platinum-selling a capella group Pentatonix returns to the Illinois State Fair Grandstand stage! Pentatonix, with special guest Rachel Platten, will perform Wednesday, August 14 at the 2019 Illinois State Fair.
Pentatonix announced its World Tour today, including this stop at the Illinois State Fair in August. The group has sold nearly 10 million albums worldwide and performed for hundreds of thousands of fans at their sold out shows across the globe. Their YouTube channel boasts more than 14.5 million subscribers, with more than three billion video views. Their 2015 self-titled album is certified gold, after debuting at #1 on Billboard's 200 chart.
Pentatonix previously performed at the 2017 Illinois State Fair and was the top revenue-maker of all 2017 Grandstand concerts, as well as the second highest ticket-selling concert of the 2017 Fair.
Rachel Platten's debut single "Fight Song" reached #6 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Platten won a Daytime Emmy® Award for her live performance of the song on Good Morning America. Her major-label debut studio album, Wildfire (2016), was certified gold and featured the follow-up singles "Stand by You" and "Better Place". Her second major-label album, Waves, premiered in 2017.
Pentatonix with special guest Rachel Platten is the first Grandstand act announced for the 2019 Illinois State Fair. Tickets go on sale later this Spring at the following prices:
