Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission Human Rights Authority, North Suburban Region Met June 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Call to Order:

Chairperson, Teri Steinberg, called the regular monthly meeting of the Human Rights Authority, North Suburban Region, to order at 4:07pm. A quorum is not present

Members Present: Teri Steinberg, Kori Larson, Maria Reher, Adell Crump

Members Absent/Excused: Lea Negron

Staff Present: Mariah Balaban

Guests: Dr. Michelle Evans, Elgin Mental Health Center

The Chair noted that a quorum was not present and that only certain business could be conducted. Teri read the confidentiality statement. Dr. Evans introduces herself and mentions that she came to the meeting today to foster a more collaborative relationship between EMHC and the HRA.

Changes in the Agenda:

Changes were made to the agenda to address the lack of a quorum:

• Cannot motion to ratify acceptance of case 21-100-9011, pending a receipt of record release authorization

• Cannot motion to ratify tabling of case 21-100-9013

Approval of Minutes:

Minutes from the April and May 2021 meetings could not be approved because a quorum was not present.

Closed Session:

The members did not move into a closed session because a quorum was not present.

Active Cases

Mariah and the members had a brief discussion of active case status:

• 21-100-9005: Site visit complete and Mariah is working on the report

• 21-100-9008: Site visit complete and Mariah is working on the report

• 21-100-9009: Site visit complete and Mariah is working on the report.

Kori motioned to accept the provider’s response to case 20-100-9018 and to close the case and publish the report. Adell seconded the motion, and the motion passed. Adell motioned to accept the provider’s response to case 21-100-9004 and to close the case and publish the report. Kori seconded the motion, and the motion passed. These motions will be ratified at the next board meeting with a quorum present.

Adjournment:

Teri made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Kori seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m. by the Chairperson.
