In an Oct. 7 Facebook post, Illinois gubernatorial candidate and state Sen. Darren Bailey announced a half-million match on giving to his campaign.

"Wow!!! What a night! Thank you!!!" Bailey posted. "I just received a call offering a $500,000 match on giving through Monday!"

Bailey shared a video discussing his recent debate with Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

"Victory smells sweet, Bailey said in the video. "I wanna thank you so much for your prayers, your encouragement. They were supported last night. It was absolutely amazing. You know probably one of the most something interesting things that I found out - people are saying oh Gov. Pritzker will show up to the next debate prepared. He didn't. That's exactly how he showed up four years ago as governor. He wasn't prepared and he's done nothing to prepare himself since. You owe it to yourselves to go back and to listen to the debate last night.  I mean I was embarrassed for him."

Bailey added, "I’m a businessperson.  I run a farm and a trucking company, have an excavating business. I've had to work hard for everything I've got, and now we're having to work harder to keep it. I know you're in the exact same boat.  You have your budgets at home, for business, for work, and we have to stay inside we have to abide and honor those budgets so I just share this with you, friends."

He called Pritzker "so out of touch with the people."

In September, Bailey conducted a short bus tour to get out and meet more of his constituents, Prairie State Wire reported.

In September he also discussed what he felt were Pritzker's failed business policies.  "The J.B. Pritzker and Joe Biden economy is crippling business, raising costs, and straining communities," Bailey said. "I will continue to push for relief to our businesses as Governor so Illinois can be a place to open new doors, rather than closing them down."
