Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed a bait and switch bill on January 27, 2023, that takes local control away from county government relating to wind farm siting setbacks. We covered the bill and his prior comments in this article where we first exposed he said he would not do what he did.
When asked a very specific question on this matter over two years ago at an Illinois Farm Bureau event, he appears to be crystal clear in his body language of shaking his head “no”, a facial expression indicating the same, rolling his eyes, and then answering no to the question asked.
Please listen to the question and pay close attention to his body language and his words and ask yourself if he was being truthful considering he signed a bill that does exactly what he said he would not do.
Considering there was zero discussion with county governments on this matter that we have been able to identify prior to the bait and switch in the last hours of the lame-duck session, it appears his claim at the end of his response regarding working with those governments is also not true.
