DCFS Updates – ICWA Team
Old Business
• Required member trainings; status report
• Accepted the proposed goals: 1. Increase Native American employees and foster parents 2. Update the DCFS ICWA training 3. Update and review the policy/procedure 307
• Co present with ICWA Council liaison to our DCFS stakeholders on the ICWA successes that was scheduled for April 12th has been rescheduled until May 10th at 11AM. Send a rough draft out by April 28th for review. Final revisions due by, May 5th?
New Business
• Regarding the goals, can we schedule 2 half day or one full day retreat/advance to make a plan on how we are going to manage the goals? Possible dates and locations?
• Need to schedule the next 4 meetings
Outreach Events
• CAICC Urban Native Education Conference April 15th
• Northwestern NAISA Spring Pow Wow April 22nd
• Any other events that might be a good place to conduct outreach?
