Gov. J.B. Pritzker's Prisoner Review Board is under fire for showing leniency to 37 year-old violent felon Crosetti Brand, who had repeatedly violated orders of protection and threatened his ex-girlfriend.

On March 13, a day after his release from state prison, Brand went to his ex-girlfriend's apartment where he critically wounded her, then stabbed her eleven year-old son to death after he tried to protect his mother.

Brand was released on the recommendation of a report by LeeAnn Miller, 63, of Junction in Gallatin County.

Pritzker announced Miller resigned on Monday.

Two fellow board members, Ken Tupy of Springfield and Krystal Tison of Harrisburg, concurred with Miller's order.

Board members, all appointed by Pritzker, conduct parole hearings for prison inmates where they can grant them early release.
