Radio talk show host and political activist Dan Proft slammed Democrat lobbyist Pat Brady as an "absolute traitor" and liar for representing himself as a Republican on Illinois media outlets.
Proft made the comments Monday after a caller reported hearing Brady slam former President Donald Trump, appearing as a guest on WLS-AM's Steve Cochran show.
"Pat Brady is a classic quisling, an enemy inside the perimeter. He is scum. He is an awful, evil person. He’s an absolute traitor. There’s nothing he says that is true," Proft said. "There is no compass. There is no center. He is a man without a chest, to the extend he’s even a man. There is no honor. There is just being part of the ‘in crowd,’ and, of course, because he’s a lobbyist, making money by being part of the ‘in crowd.’"
"(Brady) would sell out anyone for those thirty pieces of silver, as he had the entire Republican Party in Illinois," Proft said. "He’s a good example of what you’re up against in some quarters in the Republican Party— where the Republican Party was destroyed from within, like in a state like Illinois. He is a case study. Once you go left on one matter, open the flood gates, because you are left across the board."
Brady served as chairman of the Illinois Republican Party from 2009 through 2013, when he was ousted over his support for so-called "gay marriage."
After leaving his party post, Brady started a lobbying firm, "Next Generation Strategies," with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the state's largest pro-homosexual organization, "Equality Illinois," as two of his clients. Both groups were lobbying for gay marriage in Illinois.
In Oct. 2023, Brady joined the board of directors of Personal PAC, Illinois' leading pro-abortion group. He said he joined "because of his belief that the right of women to control their own health care decisions is one of the most important freedoms we as a society should strive to protect.”
According to the Illinois Secretary of State, Brady's lobbying firm, Next Generation Strategies, currently represents billionaire Neil Bluhm's Rush Street Interactive, which operates online casino games.
In 2018, Proft and Brady debated "the future of the Republican Party in Illinois" at the Chicago City Club.
Proft also hosts his podcast “Counterculture” — co-hosted by American Greatness and Restoration News —which was launched in September 2023. He is the co-host of “Chicago’s Morning Answer” weekday mornings from 5-9 a.m. on AM 560 Chicago. A former Republican candidate for Illinois Governor, Proft attended Northwestern University and received his J.D. from Loyola University-Chicago.
