The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has announced the relocation of its Bellwood Regional Office to Westchester. The move is part of an initiative to enhance operational efficiency. The office, now known as the Westchester Regional Office, is situated at 3 Westbrook Corporate Center, 3rd Floor, Westchester, IL 60154. The new contact number for the office is (708) 409-8810.

The relocated office accommodates approximately 180 IDPH staff members and collaborates with local health departments. It includes several units such as Long-Term Care field operations and regulatory units; the Food, Dairies and Devices Section; Immunizations; Oral Health; Vision and Hearing services; a unit for involuntary transfers and discharges; and the Office of Preparedness and Response.

Furthermore, IDPH conducts training sessions at this regional office to certify school-based professionals in providing required vision and hearing screenings in Illinois preschools and schools.

The new Westchester location will eventually become the site for the West Chicago Regional Office currently located at 245 W. Roosevelt Road in West Chicago. This office partners with local health departments across DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties.

Overall, IDPH manages seven Regional Health Offices throughout Illinois that house department staff and support local health department collaborations.
