Illinois high school seniors have until March 3 to apply for the 2024 Conservation Achievement Scholarship, organized by the Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF). The foundation awards scholarships annually to seniors who show commitment to preserving and enhancing the state's natural resources. This year, four scholarships of $2,000 each are available, with one specifically for a dependent of an Illinois Department of Natural Resources employee.
Natalie Phelps Finnie, chair of the ICF Board of Directors and director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, stated: "The ICF Conservation Achievement Scholarship program rewards high school students interested in conservation stewardship with an eye toward encouraging them to focus their studies on enhancing and protecting our natural resources."
Since 2005, these scholarships have been given to eligible students. Applicants must be Illinois residents and seniors at an Illinois high school. The application deadline is March 3, and details can be found on the ICF website at www.ilconservation.org. For further information or donations to support the scholarship program, contact the Illinois Conservation Foundation at 217-785-2003 or info@ilconservation.org.
