Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Revenue are urging residents to benefit from the expanded Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). This initiative aims to provide tax relief for low to moderate-income workers. For the 2023 tax year, eligibility has been broadened to include taxpayers with an IRS-issued Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), as well as workers aged 18 to 24 and those over 65 without a qualifying child.

The expansion also includes an increase in the amount of tax relief. Those claiming the Illinois EITC this year will receive a 20 percent match of the federal amount, up from the previous 18 percent.

For more information, see the EITC press release here.
