Illinois Department of Revenue revises tax forms effective January 2024

The Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) has announced revisions to several tax forms, which will take effect on January 1, 2024. The updated documents include Form ST-1, Sales and Use Tax and E911 Surcharge Return; Form PST-1, Prepaid Sales Tax Return; and Form PST-2, Prepaid Sales Tax Statement of Tax Paid. These changes are required for the reporting period starting in January 2024.

Additionally, IDOR has revised the amended versions of these forms: Form ST-1-X, Amended Sales and Use Tax and E911 Surcharge Return; and Form PST-1-X, Amended Prepaid Sales Tax Return. These amended forms should be used for corrections to original returns filed from January 2024 onwards.
