The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) has offered free firearm safety and training lessons to U.S. Senate candidate Lucas Kunce and former Congressman Adam Kinzinger. This offer follows an incident in Missouri where TV reporter Ryan Gamboa was accidentally shot during a campaign event. The ISRA attributes the incident to Kunce and Kinzinger's violation of firearm safety rules by firing at steel targets with an AR-15 at close range using inappropriate ammunition.

The ISRA, one of the oldest gun organizations in the United States, is offering these lessons at their range in Kankakee, Illinois, which is also Kinzinger's hometown. The organization highlights its extensive experience in training over 50,000 individuals, including military personnel, civilians, actors, and Olympic athletes.

In addition to firearms training, the ISRA provides wound care and first aid instruction. They expressed relief that Gamboa's injuries were not serious. The association also pointed out what they perceive as hypocrisy from both Kunce and Kinzinger for advocating an "assault weapons" ban while using such firearms themselves.
