Gerald "Jerry" Binder, 91, of Manteno, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at home surrounded by family. Born in Chicago, IL on October 11, 1933, to George Binder, Adeline (Pinkos), and Sam Lurie, Jerry married Evelyn on August 1, 1970, at Wayside Chapel in Palos Park. He worked as a truck driver for many years and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn Binder, he is also survived by his 5 daughters: Linda Guzman, Lisa Potempa, Lori Baumgart, Luann Burrow, Samantha (Gregg) Gorczowski; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edward Lurie.

Remembered as a dedicated family man, Jerry's presence will be deeply missed by his extended family. Cremation rites have been conducted, with Brown-Jensen Funeral Home in Manteno handling the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent through the Sympathy Store to offer flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Gerald "Jerry" Binder.
