Jodi Remembered Fondly at Celebration of Life

Orland Park, IL — Jodi, a kind and fun-loving individual known for her free spirit, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. She was a devoted single mother to her son Tyler, whom she cherished deeply. Jodi's caring nature earned her the endearing nickname “Mama Bear” as she welcomed and nurtured not only Tyler but also his friends as her own.

Originally from Hazel Crest, Jodi was remembered for her zest for life and dedication to her career as a travel agent. She embraced the joys of travel and excelled in making connections with people, also serving as a server with equal passion. Jodi's commitment and dedication to her work were a testament to her character and spirit.

Jodi had a special bond with her father John E. Lawlor, who passed away in 2016. Their reunion now brings comfort to those who knew and loved both of them.

In the final act of generosity, Jodi chose to give the gift of life through GIFTS OF HOPE, providing hope and a fresh start to another family. Her legacy of kindness and selflessness lives on through this act of generosity.

Jodi is survived by her son Tyler Wellever, mother Terry and step-father Charles Umecker, brother John J. Lawlor, step-sisters Jennifer (Kent) Pointer and Julie (Brian) Groskopf, niece Emma Lawlor, nephews Jared Lawlor and Benjamin Groskopf, as well as other beloved family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 12-3 p.m. at Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park. The visitation with a service at 2 p.m. will be an opportunity to remember and honor Jodi's life and the impact she had on those around her.
