Patrick J. "Pat" Riley, 72, Remembered for Generosity and Kindness

Orland Park, IL — Patrick John "Pat" Riley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at the age of 72. Known for his kindness and generosity, Pat's caring nature touched the lives of many, both in his professional role as a nurse and in personal relationships. His warm spirit and loving demeanor will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Pat shared a beautiful love story with his wife Moira, whom he affectionately called his "honey." Their enduring love, filled with laughter and unwavering commitment, was a source of inspiration to all who knew them.

As a grandfather, Pat held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren, whom he adored as "G-Pa." He took great joy in spending time with them, supporting and loving them unconditionally. His legacy of love and positivity was reflected in the deep bond he shared with his family.

Pat's mantra of "Don't sweat the small stuff--- it's all small stuff" guided his approach to life, allowing him to face challenges with grace and gratitude. Known to many as "PJR," his legacy of kindness and love will continue through those who cherished him.

Pat is survived by his wife Moira, children Kate (Adam) Rotsch, Sean (Joy) Riley, Seamus (fianceé Brenna Ford), and grandchildren Maddy, Annie, Patrick, Ziggy, and Navy. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Mildred Riley, and sisters Joanie (late Bob) Kroll, and Janet (late Butch) Levy. He is remembered as a dear brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many.

A Celebration of Pat's Life will be held at All Saints Lutheran Church in Orland Park, IL on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, with a Visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or All Saints Lutheran Church are appreciated to honor Pat's memory.
