Jeri took an active role in her family life, survived by her son, Stephen, and his wife Susan Dolezal, and by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Sr. and Anne Viskocil, her husband Wilbur Dolezal, daughter Mary Karen Dolezal, and siblings James Viskocil Jr. and Anne Behnke.
Growing up in Berwyn, Illinois, Jeri made her home in Morris for 65 years before spending her final years in Omaha, cherishing the time spent with loved ones. Jeri was known for her warm hospitality, hosting memorable dinner parties and bridge games. An enthusiast of dining and dancing, Jeri enjoyed social events with friends while treasuring family gatherings and the precious moments shared with relatives.
Jeri's love for bridge extended well into her nineties, actively participating in numerous bridge clubs. A golfer from the late 1950s, she engaged in a competitive golfing career until 2017, relishing the camaraderie of the Ladies Golf program at Morris Country Club.
Her commitment to community service was apparent through her invaluable contributions at Immaculate Conception Church, the Morris Hospital Gift Shop, and the Illinois Hospital Association. Jeri's leadership was evident in various organizations like the Women's Club, demonstrating her dedication to service and community betterment.
Memorials in Jeri's honor may be made to the Morris Hospital Auxiliary or the Immaculate Conception School Library.
A visitation for Jeri is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, culminating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Jeri will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Morris Country Club.
