Francis J. Jirousek, aged 89, of Custer Park, IL, passed away comfortably at his home on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born on September 6, 1935, in Braidwood, IL, to the late Frank and Kate Jirousek, he graduated from Reed-Custer High School and earned a Business Degree from Joliet Junior College. Francis devoted most of his career to Roper Corporation in Kankakee, pioneering the Data Processing Department during the introduction of early computers in the US. A member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus, he was known for his commitment to serving others. Francis played a pivotal role in establishing the Custer Park Volunteer Fire Department in 1964 and served as the President of the Grade School Board in Custer Park.

He cherished family time with his wife, Diane, and annual trips to Hawaii with his daughter Kathy and son-in-law Stan. Francis found joy in supporting his grandsons in soccer and music. He is survived by his loving wife Diane, daughters Karen Soberski, Pam Mullandy, Kathy Anton, grandchildren Peter and Keith Mullady, and great-grandchildren. Preceding him were his son Tony Jirousek. Visitation will be at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, with Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Interment to follow at Braceville Gardner Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Home Helpers of Kankakee, Lightways Hospice, or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in lieu of flowers.
