Diamond Envelope Corporation, based in Aurora, Illinois, has been recognized with the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) status by the Illinois Department of Labor's On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program. This recognition highlights the company's commitment to workplace safety.

"Diamond Envelope Corporation has proven it's willing to go above and beyond when it comes to workplace safety," stated Jane Flanagan, Director of the Illinois Department of Labor. She added that Diamond Envelope joins a select group of companies that have achieved this notable designation.

The company is family-owned, employs around 100 people, and specializes in manufacturing custom envelopes. Mica Chunes, On-Site Industrial Hygiene Supervisor, praised the efforts of both employees and leadership at Diamond Envelope for their dedication to worker safety.

Achieving SHARP status involves a comprehensive process that can take several months. It includes requesting a safety consultation from On-Site, addressing identified hazards, implementing a health management system in line with OSHA recommendations, maintaining industry-standard DART and TRC rates below national averages, and notifying On-Site of any changes or new hazards.

Mark Denzler, President and CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers' Association, commended Diamond Envelope's achievement: "Diamond Envelope is a best-in-class manufacturer committed to the health and safety of their employees, customers, and community as demonstrated by this tremendous SHARP designation."

SHARP recognizes small businesses with exemplary injury prevention programs. Once awarded SHARP status, worksites are exempt from federal OSHA inspections for the certification period. Other benefits include improved employee morale and reduced compensation costs.

Susan Foley, CEO of Diamond Envelope Corp., emphasized their dedication: "We believe in the health and safety of our people. Safety is not only a top priority but also a composition of policies, practices, and behaviors."

The On-Site program offers free consultations to help businesses comply with OSHA regulations. Interested companies can contact them via phone or email for more information.
