Lawrence R. Auld II, Veteran Known for Passion for Art and Travel, Dies at 41

Lawrence R. Auld II, aged 41, passed away on December 12, 2024, at his residence in Mokena. He is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Dawn Auld, siblings Joshua Auld and Nicole Fender, nieces, nephews, grandmothers, and extended family.

Larry served in the Army for 7 years, reaching the rank of sergeant in military intelligence. He was known for his love of art, languages, travel, disc golf, gaming, and nature. Despite a battle with cancer for over 4 years, Larry continued exploring the world, with recent trips to Brazil, Thailand, and South Korea.

Services will be held on January 3, 2024, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in Frankfort, with a visitation from 3pm until the start of the service at 7pm. He will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on January 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or Lightways Hospice are appreciated.
