Dorothy L. Boersma, aged 95, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. She was the cherished wife of the late Melvin J. Boersma for 60 years. Dorothy was the loving mother of Sandra (Gary) Wagenaar, James (Janice) Boersma, Barbara (Steven) Klinckman, Judith (William III) Slager, Ronald (Paige) Boersma, and Doreen (Steven) Summers. She was the dear grandmother of Kurt, Karl, and Kent Wagenaar; Jason Boersma; Emily and Samuel Klinckman; William IV, Lindsay, and Benjamin Slager; Philip, Raymond, and Jacqueline Boersma; and Simon, Stacy, and Seth Summers. Dorothy was also a cherished great-grandmother to James, Sophia, Mikayla, Austin, Sawyer, Reid, Aaron, Allison, Grant, and Violet. She held a special place in her heart for her sister Lorraine (late Art) Deckinga and other dear family members.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of Mt. Greenwood Community Church, where her faith fueled her life's values.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel in Orland Park, IL. A live stream of the service will be available on Dorothy's obituary page on Colonial Chapel's website. The interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Mt. Greenwood Community Church at 3509 W. 111th St., Chicago, IL 60655 are appreciated, honoring Dorothy's memory.
