Illinois State Rifle Association backs Todd Vandermyde for NRA Board

The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) is endorsing Todd Vandermyde in his campaign for the NRA Board of Directors. Vandermyde, along with others, is running under the banner "A New NRA."

According to ElectANewNRA.com, Vandermyde is a Life Member of the NRA and has extensive experience with Illinois gun laws. He served as a contract lobbyist for the NRA for 25 years and worked with Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs). During his tenure, he was instrumental in preventing semi-automatic and magazine bans and contributed significantly to the passage of Illinois’ concealed carry law. He also played a role in repealing the ban on short-barreled rifles (SBRs) in Illinois.

Vandermyde's affiliations include membership in Gun Owners of America, Firearms Policy Coalition, Illinois State Rifle Association (Life), Single Action Shooting Society (Life), National Rifle Association (Life), and Aurora Sportsmen’s Club since 2013. He currently serves as President of the Aurora Sportsmen’s Club, which is recognized as the largest gun club in Illinois.

In addition to his roles within these organizations, Vandermyde holds positions on the Boards of the Second Amendment Law Center and the Second Amendment Defense and Education Coalition (SADEC) as Vice-President. His work includes helping craft litigation aimed at protecting Second Amendment rights.
