Biagio LaPaglia, 81, a former resident of Sicily, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. Biagio dedicated 38 years of his life to working at Fleetwood Systems. His passions included traveling, gardening, and most of all, spending quality time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Among his favorite pastimes was sharing a meal and enjoying a glass of wine with loved ones and friends.

Biagio is survived by his wife, Mimma LaPaglia, née Florio; his daughter, Maria (J.R.) Murphy; his two grandchildren, Tesla and Matteo Murphy; his sister, Graziella Rizzo; sister-in-law, Filomena Florio; his niece, Susanne (Jim) Burg; great-nephew, Joey Burg; along with several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rino LaPaglia.

Visitation for Biagio will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., located at 108 Illinois St. in Lemont. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, beginning at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home, proceeding to Christ the Servant Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in memory of Biagio LaPaglia.
