Barbara Jean Rocha Bruno (Alexander), age 74, of Wilmington, IL, formerly of Homewood and Chicago Heights, passed away suddenly on January 25, 2025. She was predeceased by her husbands, David Rocha (1992) and James H. Bruno (2018), as well as her parents, Irving James and Bernadine Alexander. Barbara's memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends, including her children Julia (Matthew) Vignali, Jennifer (Scott) McMillan, Melanie (Kent) Lutz, David (Julie) Rocha, and Megan (Brett) Rasmussen. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Michael, Anna, Joseph, Owen, Madeline, Andrew, Penelope, Lucy, Katelyn, Hailey, David, Kenneth, and Robert. Barbara also will be deeply missed by her siblings Diane Warburton, Richard Alexander, and cherished companion Anthony Mongillo, as well as her close friends Lynda and Dennis Damiani.

Barbara's life was a testament to the diverse forms and unexpected moments of love. She radiated joy and kindness, teaching those around her about the beauty of love in all its various expressions.

Visitors are welcomed to pay their respects and celebrate Barbara's life at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home located at 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for visitation, followed by a memorial service from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Interment will occur at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to either the South Suburban Humane Society or Midwest Dachshund Rescue.
