Brad J. Steinke | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Lockport - Brad J. Steinke, 66, of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Joliet, Brad was a lifelong resident of Lockport. He graduated from St. Dennis Catholic Grade School in 1972 and Joliet Catholic Academy in 1976. Brad dedicated over 30 years to the Forest Preserve District of Will County before retiring in 2016.

He was known for his love of vacationing in the North Woods of Wisconsin, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with his grand-dog June. However, above all, Brad was a devoted husband and father. Described as the best husband and dad with an open heart, listening ear, words of wisdom, and a good sense of humor, Brad cherished his family deeply and took pride in supporting and guiding them. His kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment touched everyone around him.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elaine Steinke, and his brother, Robert Steinke.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Teri Steinke; daughter, Brooke; grand-dog, June; brother, Bruce Steinke; parents-in-law, Richard and Martha Reszel; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Steinke, Kathleen Riddell, and Dori Slattery; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or TLC Animal Shelter.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at St. Dennis Church, Lockport, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Following the Mass, Cremation Rites will be respectfully addressed.
