Lois J. Kelly | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Lockport - Lois J. Kelly, 73, of Lockport, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 22, 2025. Born in Kankakee, IL, she was the daughter of William Donald Stith and Pearl Stith (nee Hubert). Lois dedicated her career to serving as a school librarian at St. Pat's in Joliet and as a substitute teacher in the Lockport High School and Kelvin Grove School Districts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Donna Shear (late Robert), and her brother Gary Stith. Lois is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Terry Kelly; daughters Katie (Mike) Kinney and Kim Kelly; grandchildren Mikey, Lauren, and Kara Kinney; sister-in-law Mary Stith; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County, TLC Animal Shelter in Homer Glen, or the donor's favorite animal charity.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME. Chapel prayers will take place on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Lockport at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mound Grove Cemetery in Kankakee, IL around 12:15 p.m. There will be no formal procession to the cemetery in Kankakee.
