Frances Brandsness | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Lockport - Frances "Fran" Brandsness, 101, and 10 months, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Born and raised in Clinton, IN, she lived most of her life in Chicago. Frances was employed by Western Electric for many years before becoming a homemaker. She later pursued a career in beauty, operating a salon from her home.

Frances was a lifelong member of St. Daniel the Prophet Church in Chicago, where she was actively involved, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, part of the Mothers Club, and demonstrating a strong devotion to her faith. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, crocheting, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her 3 devoted daughters, Karen, Marlene, and Judith, 4 grandchildren, Alan, Brian, Beth, and Kimberly, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore Brandsness, two children in infancy, Joseph and Laura, her parents, Ignatz and Antonia Walczak, a sister, Anna Kerlin, and a brother in infancy, Walter Walczak.

Cremation rites have been respectfully addressed, and inurnment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. Family and friends are invited to meet at Resurrection Cemetery on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Noon for prayer services.
