ISBE, Illinois State Advisory Council on the Education of Children with Disabilities met Jan. 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Members present: 

Carolina Schoenbeck, Dr. Kimberly Miller, Nick Tomasso, Elizabeth Campos I. Procedural Business  

A. Call to Order/Roll Call  

1. meeting was called to order at 12:05 pm. 

B. Adoption of Agenda/Roll Call  

1. Motion to adopt agenda was made by Elizabeth Campos. Nick Tomasso  seconded. Motion carried 

C. Adoption of Minutes 

1. Nick Tomasso and Carolina Shoenbeck seconded. Motion carried. 

II. Public Participation  

(Testimony Limited to Five Minutes per Person)  

Reasonable accommodations are available upon request. Individuals requiring special accommodations should contact the Illinois State Board of Education (voice at (217) 782-5589 and TTY at (217) 782-1900) at least one week prior to the meeting date to allow time for making accommodations. 

No public comment was given. 

III. Old Business  

A. Legislative Day  

a. Nick Tomasso shared pictures from the previous legislative day. Kimberly Miller read feedback from legislators regarding information they would like to hear information about during legislative day at the Capitol. Discussions were had regarding reaching out to speakers on designated topics. Discussion were had regarding inviting families and students to event. 

IV. New Business  

A. Next Meeting Date: 

a. Friday, February 7 at 12:00 pm.

Meeting was adjourned at 12: 35.
