James John Bowman III, age 68, was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Bowman Jr. and Rachel M. née Ramsey, as well as his grandson Robert Bowman Jr. He is survived by his loving children: Jamal (Jillian) Alsguson, Michael (Roxanne) Bowman, Robert (Ryannon) Bowman, Shannon Jesperson, and Shane Jesperson. He shared a lifelong love with Laura Campbell.

Proud grandfather of Daniel, Noah, Aiden, Isabella, Makayla, Xavier, Michael, Kaylee, Alana, Jeddah, and Makkah. Fond brother of Teresa (late Andy) Tate, Susan (Kris) Wakeford, Rhonda (Harry) Bonecki, Lillian (Curly) Synoga, Georgiann (Dennis) Tietz, Charlene (Robert) Synoga, and Michael (Liz) Bowman. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and beloved by numerous friends.

James was a former honorable Marine and had a career with Roadway Freight and in construction. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lack and Sons Funeral Home in Hickory Hills. Closing prayers took place on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
