The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) has expressed readiness to support the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in its federal investigations. These investigations focus on state and local government practices that allegedly infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of citizens.

In a statement, ISRA welcomed the DOJ's initiative, citing a case in Los Angeles County, California, where residents are experiencing an 18-month delay in obtaining concealed-carry licenses. The DOJ argues that such delays breach the Second Amendment rights of lawful citizens.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has addressed this issue with a firm stance. She stated, "This Department of Justice will not stand idly by while States and localities infringe on the Second Amendment rights of ordinary, law-abiding Americans. The Second Amendment is not a second-class right, and under my watch, the Department will actively enforce the Second Amendment just like it actively enforces other fundamental constitutional rights."

The ISRA's statement concluded by expressing their willingness to assist Attorney General Bondi and the DOJ with their efforts in Illinois.

"Illinois State Rifle Association is happy to assist the U.S. Department of Justice with their federal investigations," the statement said.
