Doris Nicol | Baskerville Funeral Home - Wilmington

Doris Nicol, 96, of Wilmington, Illinois, peacefully passed away on March 25, 2025, at Miller Rehabilitation Center in Kankakee. Born in Morrisonville, Doris married John A. "Jack" Nicol in 1947 and settled in Wilmington where she was an active member of St. Rose Catholic Church. After working at State Farm Insurance and Dr. Razma's office, she retired from Wilmington High School after 26 years. Doris enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bingo, and was a dedicated member of the Will-Grundy Senior Citizens group. She was known for her unwavering love for her family and her cherished traditions, especially her Friday night card club and Wednesday pizza nights. Doris will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and son-in-law, Tom Welsh. Survived by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held at Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington, with a funeral service at St. Rose Catholic Church. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kuzma Care Cottage. Funeral arrangements are managed by Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory.
