Doreen Swarens (Hickling), 81, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Porter Place in Tinley Park. She is survived by her children, sibling, grandchildren, and was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings.

Doreen retired from Lincolnway Area Special Education and was active as a volunteer election judge. She enjoyed traveling, singing, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Known for her British sense of humor and patriotism, she held a deep love for her homeland in England and the United States.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 11th, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Floral tributes or memorial trees can be sent through the designated flower store.
