Shirley "Punk" Lave, who passed away peacefully just a day before her 88th birthday on April 20, 2025, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Born on April 21, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Shirley was a shining example of love, dedication, and empathy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Predeceased by her husband Alfred Lave, Shirley is survived by her siblings, sister Barb Defilippis and brother Ed Theres. Shirley's memory will be carried on by her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, all touched by her generous and compassionate nature.

Shirley, known affectionately as Punk, found great joy in quilting, using her talent to create heartfelt connections and memories through her craft. Her ability to turn family clothing into treasured keepsakes demonstrated her caring and thoughtful nature, providing comfort in times of loss.

A matriarch whose home and heart were always open, Shirley's presence brought stability, comfort, and laughter to family gatherings. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to wrap her loved ones in warmth for generations to come.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois. The funeral service and Time of Remembrance will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Palos Hills, Illinois.
