Margaret Wise (nee Weyhmueller) peacefully passed away at the age of 93 on April 23, 2025, in Bloomingdale, IL. A long-time resident of Lansing, Margaret is survived by her sons Paul Strasen, Michael Wise, and Thomas Wise, daughter-in-law Judy Strasen, grandchildren Sarah Strasen and Karl Strasen, and great-grandchildren Felix and Sylvie. She was preceded in death by her son, John Strasen.

Margaret led a fascinating life, visiting her Dad's relatives in Chicago, where she enjoyed German delis and pastry shops. She worked as a Montessori School teacher, a licensed practical nurse, and served as the head of the Water Department in the Village of Lansing. A devoted supporter of LARC, she won awards for selling the most ads in the ad book for their annual Appreciation Dinner. Margaret had a deep love for music, enjoying everything from jazz to sacred pieces by J.S. Bach.

Above all, Margaret cherished her children and was known for being a fierce advocate for them. She navigated countless hospital and doctor visits in Chicago, often pairing them with special activities like dining out, theater visits, and attending Cubs games.

Visitation will take place at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home on May 9, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. on May 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing. Margaret will be laid to rest at Oak Glen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing, Illinois, in memory of Margaret Wise.
