Sandra Sue Cerny | Baskerville Funeral Home - Wilmington

Sandra Sue Cerny, 87, of Coal City and formerly of Cocoa, Florida, passed away on April 27, 2025. Born on April 5, 1938, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, Sandra Sue was the daughter of William Patten and Hazel Blackburn. She married Anton Cerny on June 23, 1957, and together they raised their family in Carbon Hill.

Sandra found joy in various creative pursuits, including painting, quilting, and sewing. Known for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering kindness, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. Sandra treasured the moments shared with Anton in the warm and welcoming Canaveral Grove Community in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

She is survived by her children, Cindia Brackett, Tammy Christian, and Lori Lancaster, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael Anton, son-in-law Eddie Lancaster, and two great-grandchildren, Reese and Raygan Brackett.

In accordance with Sandra's wishes, cremation rites have been performed, and a private family memorial will be held. Sandra will be inurned in Lawrenceville, Illinois, at a future date.
