James "Jim" Finefield | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais

James “Jim” Finefield, 59, of Kankakee, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born on June 29, 1965, in Kankakee, to Benton and Mildred Finefield. Jim’s partner of 25 years, Mark Mahoney, survives him.

Jim worked as the warranty administrator for Tracy Volkswagen in Cape Cod, MA. He enjoyed gardening, cars, music, lawn care, Christmas decorations, and custom designing “Hot Wheels” models. Jim was a sociable person who loved spending time with family, friends, and co-workers.

Survived by his partner, Mark Mahoney, three dogs, Bennie, Lili, and Watson, brother Tom Finefield, sister-in-law Donna Finefield, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Vernon Finefield, Vyetta Harms, Robert Finefield, and Patricia Evans.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held on May 10, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Memorials can be made to the Riverside Healthcare Foundation, ALS Association, or American Cancer Society. Appreciation is extended to the Riverside Cancer Institute team for their care.
