Heinz A. Pieniak | Kaminski Family Funeral Homes & Cremation
Upon retiring in 1998 and settling in Des Moines, WA, Heinz embarked on a new passion, becoming a member of the Evergreen Chrysanthemum Association. For 22 years, he dedicated himself to growing chrysanthemums for competitive exhibitions, sharing his love for horticulture and beauty.
In 2008, Heinz returned to the Chicago area, residing in Countryside and joining the Southtown Dahlia Club. Apart from gardening, he relished skiing and the thrill of finding a quality bottle of wine under $10 to celebrate special occasions with his family. Known for his attentiveness to detail, Heinz prioritized staying informed through reading, while remaining averse to modern technologies like phones and computers.
Described as a kind and giving individual, Heinz left an enduring impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His absence will leave a void in the hearts of those he touched, his presence having brought joy and warmth to those around him.
Heinz is survived by his wife, Gloria, son Ted (wife Lenora), daughter Robin (husband Keith), grandchildren Ted (wife Lisa), Ashley (husband Corey), Wendy (husband Chris), and great-grandchildren Annabeth and Frankie.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois, with a Funeral Service at 7:30 PM. Cremation rites have been accorded.
