Maureen A. McKeever (nee Dowd), aged 80, of Chicago, passed away on September 7, 2025. A retired member of the CPD, Maureen is survived by her children John “Jack”, Lisa Patrick (Scott), and Brian Purtell (Jessica), as well as her grandchildren Zachary, Maureen, Brennan, Kacie, and Maura. She is also remembered by her brother Patrick Dowd, sister-in-law Nancy A. Dowd, and brother-in-law Gerald Cox. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents William and Eleanor, and siblings Kathleen Collins, James, Thomas (Marilou), Marguerite Cox, the Rev. John O.S.M., Martin (Soni), Michael, Dorothy, and Lawrence Dowd. Fondly known as Auntie Moe, she will be missed by many. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois. The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2025, where family and friends are requested to gather directly at Our Lady of the Woods Church in Orland Park for a 10:00 a.m. Mass.
