A Celebration of Life for Gunārs will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in Frankfort, IL. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Parkview Christian Church in New Lenox, IL, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Gunārs is survived by his wife Amy, sons Lukas and Davis, parents Aivars and Ligita, sisters Erika and Larisa, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He will be remembered for his vibrant life, love for family and friends, Latvian heritage, and friendly presence in the community. Gunārs' memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
