John G. Cairns, Sr., aged 70, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at The Gardens of Morris. Born in Joliet, Illinois, on March 26, 1955, Cairns was a dedicated member of the Wilmington community. He worked in farming, for ComEd, and ran a heating and cooling business while also serving on the Wilmington Fire Department Board and Wilmington Township as a Trustee. A faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Cairns was involved in various church activities. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many friends. A memorial visitation and service will be held at Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington. Memorials in John's name can be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
