Orland Park, IL - Sandra Elizabeth Braasch, affectionately known as Sandie, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025. A beloved mother, sister, nurse, and friend, Sandie will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, resilience, and joyous spirit that touched the lives of many.

Born on July 15, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Sandie dedicated her career to serving the community as a nurse at Palos Hospital. She cared for numerous patients with grace and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered. Even in retirement, Sandie continued to volunteer at the hospital, embodying the same warmth and dedication that defined her life and career.

Sandie's devotion extended to supporting fellow cancer patients and their families, drawing from her experience as an oncology nurse. Her commitment to caring for others was a testament to her compassionate nature and unwavering spirit.

Above all, Sandie cherished her role as a mother. She poured her heart into raising her son, Jason Braasch, and welcomed his wife, Claire Gaynor, into the family with open arms. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and joy will live on through them, as they continue to carry her spirit in their travels and daily lives.

A celebration of Sandie's life will take place on October 18, 2025, in Orland Park, where friends and loved ones will gather to honor and remember her. The community mourns the loss of a remarkable individual whose presence will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.
