Dan Proft, host of "Chicago's Morning Answer," expressed concerns over Chicago leaders dismissing federal law enforcement despite public safety issues and questioned the role of activists in locating missing children. His statement was made on X.

"What could be happening in Chicago but nah. JB & BJ have it handled. They don't need federal law enforcement gumming up the master class in providing personal safety they're putting on," said Proft, Radio Show Host. "How many missing kids have the dried-up boomer shews or paid-for agitators who use their faces as tackle boxes located?"

Chicago's relationship with federal law enforcement has been marked by tension. According to Reuters, Mayor Brandon Johnson said that the city would not cooperate with federal troop or agent deployments, even as federal agencies continue joint operations targeting violent crime. Johnson issued an executive order barring the Chicago Police Department (CPD) from assisting federal National Guard or immigration actions, reflecting an ongoing dispute over jurisdiction and public-safety strategy.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reports that the U.S. recovery rate for missing children reached about 91% in 2024. However, Chicago Police missing-persons postings show dozens of active child cases at any given time, illustrating the city's persistent challenge despite strong national recovery performance.

A report by the U.S. Marshals Service on "Operation We Will Find You 2" indicated that 200 missing children were located nationwide in 2024—including 173 endangered runaways—demonstrating the impact of federal task-force activity. This highlights how Chicago’s participation in such efforts fits into a broader national trend of interagency recoveries.
