Illinois State Rifle Association warns against UN threat

Illinois State Rifle Association Executive Director Richard A. Pearson is imploring all his members to be aware.

"The United Nations International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) just completed another week-long conference aimed at disarming you, the American Citizen,” Pearson notes in the organization’s latest bulletin. "Sound familiar? Of course it does because it is happening right now. What do you think the Moms, Everytown, and all the other local initiatives are really about? The people who populate these organizations are wittingly or unwittingly helping the U.N. and destroying the United States.”

Pearson directly singled out the likes of Michael Bloomberg and George Soros for scorn, branding them “holier than thou billionaires” behind much of the anti-firearms campaign.

Pearson also took time to weigh in on the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and how he sees it playing into the ongoing gun debate.

“I must say I was never a member of the Justice Kennedy Fan Club but that is now a moot point,” he said. “What is the point is that the United States Supreme Court now has a vacancy. Right now the United States Supreme Court has a very fragile semi-conservative majority. The retirement of Justice Kennedy is both an opportunity and a risk. If gun owners across the country turn out, it is an opportunity. If they don’t, we are in greater danger than ever.”

Pearson also noted that the unofficial beginning of summer recently arrived at the ISRA Range.

"The Summer Glock League was packed, the Bullseye League was full, the Appleseed Project line was at capacity and the ISRA Marksmanship League had its biggest day,” he said.
