Illinois Governor's Office issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration:
GUARDIANSHIP AND ADVOCACY COMMISSION
Rep. William Davis will continue to serve on the Guardianship and Advocacy Commission.* Davis has represented the 30th district in the Illinois House of Representatives since 2003, where he currently serves as Assistant Majority Leader. He previously served as a Deputy District Administrator in the Office of Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and a founding member of the Better Funding for Better Schools Coalition. Davis has been recognized as the "Legislator of the Year" by the Illinois Association of Code Enforcement, the Illinois Primary Healthcare Association and the Illinois Association of Park Districts. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and his Master of Public Administration Degree at Governors State University.
LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSION
Cynthia Berg will continue to serve as Chair on the Liquor Control Commission.* Berg has been a licensed nurse for 34 years with Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Cardiac Intensive Care at University of Chicago Health Systems, and most recently as a School Nurse Certified in Individual Health Plans and 504s for District 206. Previously, Berg has undertaken two surgical missions to the countries of Guatemala and the Dominican Republic to aid poverty-stricken areas. Berg has served on the Village of Tinley Park Board of Trustees since 2016, and since beginning her tenure sat on the Economic Development and Marketing Committee as Chair. Berg holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lewis University.
LOTTERY CONTROL BOARD
Diana Leza Sheehan will serve on the Lottery Control Board.* Sheehan is a market research, sales and business strategy executive with over 18 years of corporate, consulting and management experience. She currently serves as a Group Vice President of Client Services & Insights at InContext Solutions. Sheehan previously spent more than seven years at Kantar Group, serving as the Vice President of Client Leadership, Vice President of Retail & Shopper Insights, Director of Retail Insights and Vice President of Client Development. Prior, she worked in a variety of roles across the private sector, including time at ConAgra Foods, Ipsos Marketing, Mintel International, Nielsen, Willard Bishop Consulting and General Mills. Sheehan also sits on board of directors of Instituto Del Progresso Latino and serves at its secretary. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
