Nearly 6 percent of Adams County residents have been fully vaccinated for the coronavirus as of Feb. 10, giving the county the highest COVID-19 vaccination rate among the 102 Illinois counties, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
Out of the county’s population of 65,691, a total of 3,934 have been fully vaccinated, the IDPH reported.
Coming in second was Fulton County, with a 4.53% vaccination rate, while Calhoun County was third at 4.25%. Fulton has a population of under 35,000, and Calhoun has only 4,802 residents.
Statewide, 2.57% of the population has been fully vaccinated against the virus, or 327,413 out of 12,741,080 residents. Cook County’s vaccination rate came in below the state average at 2.43%.
The numbers are based on data reported to the IDPH, and those reports may be delayed by as much as three days. The state’s total number of doses in its inventory is 227,492, according to the IDPH.
