Jeffrey Tucker insists he’d seen President Joe Biden’s recent speech marking the one-year anniversary of the COVID-19 crisis being declared a pandemic playing out for some time.
“People listening must have looked at each other and said what?” Tucker, Editorial Director for the American Institute for Economic Research, said during a recent appearance on Chicago’s Morning Answer. “What country does he think he’s in charge of?”
Tucker argues Biden’s words about the state of affairs show just how detached from reality he is when it comes to the virus.
“It’s possible the speech was designed to perpetuate fear and prolong it,” he said. “It sounded like he was on another planet.”
Tucker claims that the suffering brought on by the lockdowns that accompanied the virus only assures that those who pushed for them will be hard-pressed to regain the trust of the masses.
“They shut our churches, closed our schools, locked us in our homes and told us the only way to fix the virus was to destroy our economy,” he said. “The people who favored these kinds of lockdowns are going to be doing a lot of rebuilding for wrecking American prosperity over the last year.”
