Illinois Republican Party State Central Committeeman Jay Reyes says the party’s minority outreach efforts are finally taking hold.

“From the inner city of Chicago to college campuses in Champaign, we’re getting more support every day, particularly among ethnic voters,” Reyes said. “Illinois Democrats would tell you that they have a monopoly on certain constituencies of voters and their interests but that simply isn’t the case. I have been pleasantly surprised by our gains among minority voters.”

Reyes said he has reason to believe voters agree with the GOP position on issues ranging from reducing property taxes to opposing corruption.

“And then something else started to happen,” he said. “I began hearing more calls to support the police, oppose socialist policies, and even protecting school children from radical education agendas. Many ethnic communities know better than the media lets on, that we’re right on so many of the basic issues facing Illinoisans regardless of race, religion, or country of origin.”

Reyes said he’s looking forward to having a hand in jumpstarting coalition programs designed to expand voter battlegrounds.

“We’ve had Illinoisans contact us with an interest in starting or expanding Republican coalitions representing Asian American, Assyrian, Black, Indian, Latino, Greek, and Polish constituencies, just to name a few,” he said. “These coalitions recognize that we’re Americans first and that we have much to be proud of. They’re going to help us take that message to voters throughout Illinois and expand our outreach efforts like never before.”

Illinois GOP Chairman Don Tracy has taken on the task of making voters fully aware of how much the views of Republican lawmakers in Springfield differ from their Democratic colleagues.

“Democrats are angry culture warriors who want to smash our history, tear down statues, decriminalize hard drugs, defund the police and mandate gender studies for kindergartners,” Tracy posted on Facebook. “Republicans love America, love their neighbors and love life. Join us - help us stop the crazies and make Illinois a great place to live again.”

Tracy and Republicans' latest outrage stems from the push to remove statues of four former U.S presidents.

The plan has the support of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who recently had statues of Christopher Columbus removed. She said the statues were removed to prevent possible vandalism.

According to the Sun-Times, the statues and monuments now on a list that might be removed are there because they are perceived to promote white supremacy, inaccurate or demeaning portrayals of Native Americans or the subjects' racist acts or genocide.
