In an October 15 post on X, Jeanne Ives challenged ABC News host Martha Raddatz by quoting an article that said, "Yes, gangs did take control of our apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, and the government did nothing."

"Does Martha Raddatz want to comment," said Ives, Founder. "Yes, gangs did take control of our apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, and the government did nothing. That is the real story."

According to Ives' post on X, she shared a link to an Epoch Times article published on October 14. The article focused on claims from a New York-based property manager that Venezuelan gangs had taken over apartment buildings managed by the company in Aurora, Colorado. Members of the Tren de Aragua gang reportedly took control of units, assaulted an employee, and attempted to extort the company, as indicated by CBZ Management’s social media posts. Law enforcement allegedly informed the company that Tren de Aragua was responsible for the takeover. Epoch Times reported that these issues began late last year when tenants started complaining about increased crime and unauthorized occupants in the buildings.

Martha Raddatz is identified as the ABC host who challenged Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance regarding his claims about Venezuelan gang members taking over apartments in Aurora during an October 13 interview. This was reported by Fox News. Raddatz pressed Vance to address statements made by Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump at a recent rally in Aurora. "I’m going to stop you because I know exactly what happened," Raddatz said during the interview.

Fox News also reported that Vance responded to Raddatz's challenge. "Martha, do you hear yourself? Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by Venezuelan gangs," he said during the interview. He criticized her focus on Trump's statements rather than acknowledging broader concerns about gang activity.

The mayor of Aurora also refuted claims that gang members had taken over the city and state, according to Fox News.

Jeanne Ives is noted as a former Illinois State Representative who served six years representing Illinois House District 42. She ran for governor in 2018 and sought election to represent Illinois’ 6th Congressional District in 2020.
