Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Revenue have announced tax relief measures for individuals and businesses affected by severe weather events in Illinois. These include storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding that began on July 13, 2024.

The relief applies to areas designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Currently included are Cook, Fulton, Henry, St. Clair, Washington, Will, and Winnebago counties. Residents or business owners in these areas qualify for income tax relief. The same provisions will apply to any additional counties designated as disaster areas in the future.
